As per TANCET Exam Pattern, it will be an offline test of 2-hour duration having 100 MCQs of 1 mark each. There is a negative marking of 0.33 marks. The paper will be set in English only. TANCET Syllabus is different for MCA, MBA, M.Tech/M.E, M.Arch and M.Planning programs.
TANCET 2019 exam for M.Tech or M.Arch and other technical courses decides whether the candidate is eligible for admission to the state colleges of Tamil Nadu. Question Paper comprises of three parts.
1. Part I and Part II are mandatory for the applicants while they have to choose the Part III’s subject at the time of registration.
2. Part III is chosen according to the course the candidate wants to pursue.
There are different papers for different courses in the state level exam but similar marking scheme is followed in all tests. Let’s have a look into the marking scheme of this exam:
1. TANCET question paper is of 100 marks containing 100 multiple choice questions.
2. Each question carries 1 mark.
3. Candidates lose 1/3 marks for every incorrect response.
4. If a student marks more than one option in a single question in TANCET 2019, it is counted as wrong and negative marking is done.
5. Questions left unanswered are ignored while checking the OMR. No marks are given/ deducted for such questions.
