National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/ Dental Colleges run with the consent of Medical Council of India/ Dental Council of India, except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
1. A single paper containing 180 objective type questions
2. Physics – 45 questions
3. Chemistry – 45 questions
4. Biology – 90 questions
5. Total marks - 720
6. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks, while each incorrect response will attract a penalty of 1 mark
7. Four options with single correct answer – to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided at examination centre only.
8. Duration - 03 hours.
Candidates can opt for Question Paper in anyone of the following languages:
English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu
Option of medium of Question Paper should be carefully exercised while filling in the Application Form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed later.
Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.
Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.
Candidates opting for Regional languages would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.
In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

The NEET syllabus 2019 will be based on a common syllabus which is prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The NEET syllabus will include topics from Zoology, Botany, Physics and Chemistry subjects. The syllabus will be published after the review of different state syllabus as well as NCERT, CBSE, and COBSE. The syllabus will be based on the syllabus of Class 11 and 12.
